Birth Control

10 Ways a Man Can Help With Birth Control

1) Always Use Birth Control

•Don't have sex without birth control
•If there is none available, wait until you are prepared

2) Talk About It

•Know what method you and your partner will use before having sex

3) Accompany Your Partner

•Offer to go to the clinic with your partner
•This can reduce anxiety for you and your partner regarding birth control

4) Help With the Cost

•Offer to pay for your partner's clinic visit and /or her choice of birth control

5) Educate Yourself

•Research various methods of birth control before deciding which one is right for you and your partner

6) Use Condoms

•Besides birth control, condoms also protect against Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
• Learn to use condoms correctly and try different brands to find one that is comfortable for you and your partner
•Use them every time

7) Assist Your Partner

•Ask your partner what you can do to support her
•Help her remember to take the pill and renew her prescription

8) Talk About Pregnancy

•If birth control fails, what will you and your partner do if a pregnancy occurs?
•Make sure you are both aware of the possibility of a pregnancy

9) Talk to Other Men

•Share your knowledge about birth control with other men
•Encourage others to talk to their partners about using birth control

10) Respect Yourself

•Making smart choices now can lead to a bright future for you and your partner
